March 8: International Women’s Day

March 8: International Women’s Day Anonymous Wed, 03/15/2023 - 13:58 home University of Ottawa March 8: International Women’s Day Gazette Society Equity, diversity and inclusion International Women’s Day Published on March 11, 2022 As we mentioned last week, we have chosen to highlight International Women’s Day for a second week because of the many events and initiatives taking place in early March this year.  This day allows us to celebrate the many achievements of women, underscore the progress made toward sexual equality, and take stock of current concerns and issues. This is also an opportunity to openly discuss how some women’s rights once thought permanently established, such as abortion rights or labour rights, could be in jeopardy.  In 1922, exactly one century ago, women officially graduated from the University of Ottawa for the first time. Since then, the University has supported women and the projects and research they conduct to change the world their way. Women contribute significantly to the development of society and to the well-being of everyone.  We invite you to discover a few of the International Women’s Day s initiatives at uOttawa: International Women’s Day on campus International Women’s Week Library s Virtual Exhibitions Women’s Archives
