New study uncovers how cancer cells tolerate missing chromosomes

A chromosomal imbalance known as aneuploidy is deadly to normal cells, but very common in tumors. New research led by Yale pharmacologist Yansheng Liu explains how this is possible, revealing “fundamental rules” of cancer biology that could lead to new treatments.
