L’Università del Salento ospita il convegno patrocinato dalla Scuola Sant’Anna “La svolta dell’intelligenza artificiale. Filosofia, politica e conoscenza al tempo degli algoritmi”

The University of Salento hosts the conference “The Turn of Artificial Intelligence: Philosophy, Politics and Knowledge in the Age of Algorithms”, held under the patronage of the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna m.nazzari Mon, 11/10/2025 - 09:39 How is knowledge changing in the age of algorithms? The conference “The Turn of Artificial Intelligence: Philosophy, Politics and Knowledge in the Age of Algorithms”, hosted by the University of Salento on 14 and 15 November 2025 and held under the patronage of the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna of Pisa, will seek to answer this and other related questions. The initiative, promoted by the Department of Human and Social Sciences and the CREV Research Center of the University of Salento, brings together scholars from Italian and international universities to critically reflect on the philosophical, political, and epistemological implications of artificial intelligence.Among the key contributions, Barbara Henry, Professor of Political Philosophy at the DIRPOLIS Institute of the Sant Anna School, will participate in the opening plenary session (Friday, 14 November, 3:30 PM) with a lecture entitled “Cyberspace and the Myths of Digital Immateriality: Deconstructive Strategies”, offering a critical reading of contemporary myths surrounding digitalization and the dematerialization paradigms that characterize algorithmic culture.During the conference, Professor Henry will also chair Panel 3, “Knowing with Data: Epistemology, Technology and Data Evolution” (Saturday, 15 November), which will explore issues related to data-mediated knowledge, algorithmic transparency, and the new forms of cognitive authority generated by AI.The event will provide an opportunity for interdisciplinary discussion on issues crucial to contemporary society — from the relationship between ethics and technology to the transformations of subjectivity and politics in the age of artificial intelligence — with contributions from philosophers, political scientists, legal scholars, and researchers from various Italian and international universities.
