Anthropologist Andrew Littlejohn on NU.nl: With Trump taking office, the tide is turning on disaster management

More than twenty years ago, Hurricane Katrina devastated the southern United States with nearly 1,400 deaths. Due to climate change, the lessons from this disaster are more relevant than ever, but the Trump administration seems to be ignoring them by cutting funding for disaster management. Anthropologist Andrew Littlejohn, assistant professor at the Institute of Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology, explains the situation.
