Giving back to her profession and community is a top priority as a medical professional. Block is the past President of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA), a national organization of over 5,000 m the past President of the Illinois Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (ISDPA); and the past Chair of the Dermatology Physician Assistants Foundation (DPAF), a supporting organization of the SDPA. She is honored to be the first Physician Assistant on the Dermatology Times Editorial Advisory Board and the first Physician Assistant ever asked to be on an Advisory Committee for the FDA. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Illinois Academy of Physician Assistants, ISDPA, and SDPA.

Block has been featured on TV, radio, social media, and in many publications. Through her social media presence, as @dermatologywithrenata, she educates the public on proper skincare and the importance of the role of Dermatology Physician Assistants in the healthcare community.
