Hines picks up historic Dallas apartments with renovation plans

​​​​​​DALLAS – Hines has purchased the nearly century-old Maple Terrace apartments in Uptown at 3001 Maple Ave. The new owner plans to reinvigorate the seven-story, 81-unit building.It was sold by locally based Exxir Capital, which had owned the building since 2010.
Built in 1927 by English architect Sir Alfred Bossom, the histor​ic building had been home to a number of famous residents, including Judy Garland, Dean Martin, Elvis Presley, Zsa Zsa Gabor, Liza Minn​​elli, and Todd Oldham.
It was last assessed for $14 million.
