Tufts Students Going the Distance—Into Space

Undergraduates bring curiosity for interplanetary exploration to a new club where hands-on projects lead to rocket launches and more Joshua Harvey, E22, will always remember April 27. That was the day this spring when the rockets named Borealis, and Cowabunga, and Space Bo 1 blasted into Tufts history. Harvey and his fellow classmates had devoted more than a year to researching and building the rockets—the first such venture at Tufts. Two were built from kits, and Space Bo—“a play on Jumbo,” explains Harvey—was built from scratch.
